Activities and Services at Travelers Rest Resort and Golf Course

 

 

Travelers Rest Resort is a unique Resort founded and built by volunteers who provide a variety of activities and services.  Everyone who stays with us is welcome to participate. TR has an Activities Coordinator on staff.

 

Resort facilities, open all year, include the 9 hole Golf course and pool with spa.  Check out our Sunday Night Entertainment; you won’t want to miss a performance!

Book Browsers Club
Join us at our weekly book reviews!
Bird/Nature Walk
Tuesday mornings we walk for 2-3 hours around the park, seeing as many as 32 different species in a single outing.  We also observe local turtles, alligators, armadillos, deer and, recently, eagles.

Computer Club

Geocaching
GEOCACHING is a real-world outdoor treasure hunting game. Players try to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled devices and then share their experiences online
Kennel Club
Here at TR we love our pets.  We have a
PuppyPark, spa and designated walking areas.  The Kennel Club hosts monthly meetings with great guest speakers.  Door prizes.  All are welcome!

Miniature Yacht Racing
Sailing two classes of radio controlled sailboats on TR’s own Mirror Lake racing two days per week.

Model Airplane Club

The TRR Model Airplane Club invites those who are interested to join in building and flying R/C gas or electric powered model

airplanes.Outdoor and indoor flying sites are available within the park. AMA or MAC membership is encouraged.

Painting, Oil & Acrylic
Each class is separate so come when possible to listen, learn, watch or paint.  Check The TR TIMES for details.
Painting, Watercolor
WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP – one good reason to take a Watercolor Workshop is “for the fun of it”!  Join us.  Check the TR TIMES for details.
Quilting
Beginners meet twice monthly and we have a very active and expert group – the Quilting Guild - for sharing ideas and skills.  The Guild meets twice monthly.  Check The TR TIMES for details.
Red Hat Society
At TR we have many, many Red Hat groups for fun and fellowship.  Check The TR TIMES for details.
Sewing
Full day of sewing with your own projects and sewing machines.  Some group projects.
Small Engine Repair
Members repair small engines on both 2 & 4 cycle including lawnmowers, weed eaters, etc.
Wood Working *Carpenter shop

TR Carpenter Shop is fully equipped, modern and clean.Come join us!

 

 

Woodcarving
An interesting hobby for both expert and beginner.  Instruction is always available.

Come and dance to the music of the Travelaires.  Each dance has a theme, which is posted on the TR bulletin board in Busch Hall.

Entertainment Designers Network Showcase Day

Don’t miss this all-day annual Entertainment Designers Showcase – 18 different professional acts including comedians, vocalists and musical groups will perform.  Admission is FREE!

Easy Stretching exercises done to improve balance; for any age

Tone & Tighten
Ladies Tone & Tighten: floor exercises to tone & tighten and maintain flexibility with no joint stress. Weights are used for upper body strength and toning.
Walkers Unite
Tuesdays 8:00 am - 10:00 am on the Golf Course cart paths.  Join us!
Walking Aerobics

Rain or shine; Daily early indoor walking; walk with others to a three-mile video. Check TR Times for details.

Water Aerobics
Our water aerobics class is conducted 3 times a week in a heated, screen enclosed pool. This workout includes warm-up, cardio, toning and cool down.  Our aim is to have fun while getting fit!

 

 

Harmonica Club
Harmonaires –playing for fun & camaraderie.  Brief instructional time for beginners; solos or combos playing; sing-a-longs and group playing.
Keyboard Club
Got an electric keyboard? Beginners to advanced are welcome to join our group.  Here’s an opportunity to enjoy good music, good friends and a good time!
Musician’s “Jam” Sessions

Theater Group
Little Theater - Meeting weekly with performances scheduled for late March. Check TR Times for more info.
Travelaires Orchestra
If you play an instrument, why not join TR’s own orchestra?  We play each Friday night at the dance in Busch Hall and for several other TR Special Events.  Check The TR TIMES or Busch Hall bulletin boards for details.
Travelettes Women’s Chorus
A three-part women’s vocal group who love to sing and have fun.  We prepare and present our music at a Sunday Night program in the spring.
TR Singing Men
We sing at nursing homes, campgrounds and a veteran’s nursing home. If you like to sing, join us.

Bible Study A nondenominational in-depth study of God’s word.

 

Golden Crown Society
As we study God’s word, we try to glorify him in all that is said and done. We also try to encourage and uplift one another.
Women’s Emmaus/Cursillo Reunion
For women who have participated in a Walk to Emmaus, Cursillo, daily Bread, Tres Dias or ViaDeCristo.  In an hour long weekly meeting we self evaluate our walk with Christ and share our Christian concerns.

Christmas Feast
A gathering of TR residents and guests to share a Christmas meal and celebrate the season.

7:30 am to 9:00 am weekdays;  informative presentations made by local vendors and charities are often a part of our coffee socials.  Check The TR TIMES for details.

Fashion Show

Annual Fashion Show features clothing for the recreational (RV) traveler, refreshments, music and our own TR models.

Flea Markets

First Saturday of each month; November with two in March. Tables are free; one resident per family; must signup for table.

Hobby & Art Show

An annual display of TR hobbies and artist’s work, held at our own Busch Hall. Contact Nancy Rogers for details.

Ice Cream Socials
Serving ice cream to friends and neighbors, for a nominal fee, prior to the Sunday evening program at Busch Hall.
New Years Eve Ball  
Supper Club
A chance to dine with friends - old or new, sharing each other's covered dishes. Sign up to join us at a Supper Club.

Showcase of TR talent annually in March
Thanksgiving Feast
A gathering of TR residents and guests to share a Thanksgiving meal.
Tours

Sign up at the Busch Hall bulletin board to join us at the Pin Chasers in Zephyrhills.  Equipment available.

Golf activities
Nine hole par 34 golf course, providing activities such as a Men’s League, Women’s League, Scrambles, Night Glow-ball and tournaments. The course is beautifully landscaped and challenging. Golf lessons are available.

Horseshoe Pitching; singles, doubles and teams
Pickle Ball
Organized play on Thursday and Saturday 9:00 AM. Equipment is available for all that have wanted to give it a try.

Twice weekly at the Citrus Center join us
